Cancer Survivor Tina Attends a Detroit Lions Game

A local organization is helping to make dreams come true in a big, bold way and they are getting a little help from the Detroit Lions. This is the third wicked awesome wish that’s been granted this season.

The first one went to a 9-year old with terminal cancer. Another went to a young boy who lost his mother to cancer. This Sunday, it was a cancer survivor.

Tina Tersigni was diagnosed with breast cancer last March. She’s now in remission.

“I can’t believe I won. I never win anything,” she said.

Tersigni and her husband, Frank, got two front row tickets to Sunday’s Lions vs. Cowboys game right by the Lions’ endzone. They were also invited onto the field before the game. This was the couple’s first game ever, and will now be hard to top!

It was all made possible through Lady Jane’s Wicked Awesome Wishes Foundation and Lions team captain, Stephen Tulloch. Chad Johnson, owner of Lady Jane’s says, “I lost my mom to cancer six years ago and my dad last year. It’s something that means a lot to my family and the people around me, so we are going to continue to do it and make it bigger and bigger.”

The effort is raising awareness about cancer and, at the same time, helping those touched by it to do something they never thought they could accomplish. It’s making memories and wishes come true. The smiles say it all.

Tersigni says, “It does feel really good after the last year what I went through. I’m very excited. I’m very happy.”

“She is my idol and anyone else who is going through this. She an amazing, strong person,” added Frank.

Organizers still have plenty more wishes to grant at Ford Field during home games and are looking for more nominations.
