Loyal customer Rodney Baker first reached out to Lady Jane’s in August of 2015 while he was getting his hair cut at the Southgate, Mich. location.
His father Glen - an avid golfer and teacher of the game - had just passed away from heart disease in March. Rodney was looking for donations as part of the memorial golf outing he had put together.
"This tourney is our way of honoring what he loved and raising money for the (American Heart Association)," he said.
LJ donated free haircuts for the event’s raffle baskets, which helped the event raise more than $3,000 for the AHA.
Rodney and his family held a 2nd Annual Glen Baker Memorial Golf Tournament July 30 and once again incorporated Lady Jane’s into the raffle prizing.
"For the second year in a row with your help, we raised $3000 to send to the American Heart Association," wrote Rodney.
"We had a Lady Jane’s gift certificate in seven of our baskets for raffle after golf was over and your donation was a huge help in raising money. Thank you from all of my family."
